Today I would just like to show you my newest creation: a messenger bag. I was looking for a bag pattern that would make it possible to carry my tablet pc around, including my other stuff, and, since we are already at it… why not also a small bottle, in case I would like to have something to drink with me on the road? 😉

Heute möchte ich euch nur schnell meine neueste Kreation zeigen: eine Messenger Tasche. Ich habe schon länger nach etwas gesucht, in dem ich meinen Tablet PC inklusive meines ganzen anderen Zeugs herumtragen kann, und wo wir schon dabei sind, warum nicht auch eine kleine Flasche, falls ich mal unterwegs etwas trinken möchte?

So I just made this pattern myself, which mainly consist of several… a billion to be exact… rectangles. For the front and back, for the gussets (the sides) and all of the internal pockets.

On top of the flap I also wanted to add some pockets because I thought, when you are sitting in a car, for example, you don’t want to search for your phone inside the bag all the time… you can just leave it on the outer pockets on the flap 🙂 The fabric of the flap is cotton, which I laminated myself.

Also habe ich dieses Schnittmuster schnell selbst gemacht. Es besteht hauptsächlich aus ziemlich vielen… tausenden um genau zu sein… Rechtecken. Für die Vorder- und Rückseite, die Seiten und alle Innentaschen.

Außerdem habe ich außen auf der Klappe auch eine Tasche drangenäht, damit man darin z.B. während der Fahrt im Auto (als Beifahrer!) nicht immer nach dem Handy in der Tasche kramen muss, sondern es direkt vorne zu finden ist. Und den anderen Krimskrams, wie z.B. eine kleine Packung Feuchttücher, passen dort auch gut hinein – unterwegs mit Kids besonders gut zu gebrauchen. Das Material der Klappe ist Baumwolle, die ich selbst laminiert habe.

I have adapted the straps to hold the tablet pc from the pattern of Lisa Lam’s messenger bag in „The Bag Making Bible“.As you can see on the picture, this bag can also hold a little bottle and in the front I also added a couple of pockets to insert things like a lipstick, a pen, paper tissues, the phone… etc. 🙂

Die Halterung für den Tablet PC habe ich aus dem Schnittmuster von Lisa Lam’s Messenger Tasche aus dem Buch „The Bag Making Bible“ entnommen.
Wie ihr sehen könnt, hält die Tasche auch eine kleine Flasche. Vorne habe ich noch eine Innentasche eingenäht, in die man z.B. Lippenstifte und sonstige Stifte hineinstecken kann, sein Handy, Taschentücher, usw.  🙂

Youpieh! Now it’s only missing the straps… I could not decide on whether I would simply make the myself or use a webbing 🙂

Jetzt fehlen nur noch die Henkel… ich konnte mich nämlich nicht zwischen selbst gemachten oder Gurtband entscheiden… mal sehen.
